UW-Marinette is in need of 6-10 Friendship Families and 3 Host Families for the upcoming 2014-2015 academic year. Host and Friendship Families are an invaluable part of the international student programs on the campus.
The main difference between the two programs is the length of time a student lives in your home. Host Families are needed for one semester or academic year for a young woman from South Korea and young men from France and Thailand. Host Families are asked to provide room and board (three meals a day and a separate bed). A partial reimbursement of $200/month is offered to Host Families, which is paid once each semester.
Friendship Families host a student for approximately two weeks before school begins. Students will be arriving between August 15 and 19 from China, Japan, Moldova, and South Korea and will move into Student Housing Apartments on August 27. Friends are asked to stay in touch with their student, serve as a community resource and contact their student on a monthly basis.
Both Host and Friendship families will receive the on-going support and guidance from the International Student Programs Staff who live right here in our community.
