The University of Wisconsin Continuing Education and Extension offers opportunities for children ages 6-18 to participate in theatrical productions. Since 1993, such well known plays as Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs, Charlotte's Web, The Wizard of Oz, Cinderella, Peter Pan, Alice in Wonderland, Into the Woods, Hansel and Gretel, and Beauty and the Beast have given children valuable experience in what it means to be part of a live, theatrical production. Children learn valuable stage and life skills such as teamwork, responsibility and confidence.
See the Auditions & Involvement page for how to participate in and support Children's Theatre.
Children's Theatre 2015-2016 Season
Dorothy in Wonderland
February 11-14, 2016
In February 2016, join the Children’s Theatre as the worlds of Oz and Wonderland collide in Dorothy in Wonderland. Adapted from the works of L. Frank Baum and Lewis Carroll. Dorothy Gale is about to go back home to Kansas. But before she can hop into the wizard’s balloon, another whirlwind appears over the Emerald City, sweeping Dorothy, Toto, Scarecrow, Tin Man and Lion away to Wonderland where they meet Alice, the Cheshire Cat, Mad Hatter and more. Dorothy and Alice team up to defeat the Queen of Hearts at croquet, but will that be enough to return Wonderland to normal? And how will they ever get back home to Kansas and to London?
