Basics of Electrical Design
Course Prerequisites
- Recent AutoCAD Course or current experience
- Successful completion of the Introduction to Modern Shipbuilding Design course
- OR, Equivalent AMSD competency portfolio.
Course Description
This course is designed to provide the practical skills and knowledge that students need to become effective entry level electrical designers in a shipyard or marine design agency.
In this course, Learners will complete six Learning Plans in which they demonstrate their competence by:
- Reviewing electrical theory
- Identifying the basics of the electrical system
- Relating how rules and regulations impact electrical system design
- Correlating the design process/production planning to a given shipyard
- Creating 2D electrical system drawings
- Preparing a 3D electrical model
