Get to know Isaac Thill

By UW-Marinette

Student Isaac Thill

Age: 17

Hometown: Peshtigo/Marinette

High school attended: Faith Christian School in Coleman

Current program or major: undecided, possibly pre-med

Why did you choose UW-Marinette? It was close to home, I could commute, the price is great, and I can still go to my home church.

What surprised you the most about UW-Marinette when you arrived on campus?  How friendly and personable all of the staff are. You (or at least I did) kind of expect the teachers to be too busy with all of the other students to care about getting to know you, but they know us by name and are more than willing to help us if we have a problem.

Why did you choose your program/major?  I have always loved helping people, so I am definitely going to pursue something along those lines, but I am not completely decided on what that will be.

What are you learning about your career field that you find interesting or rewarding? I definitely enjoy my zoology class and learning about the human body; how it works and moves has always interested me so I find that to be a fun class.

In addition to being a college student, what takes up your free time?  I love playing sports, including soccer, basketball and broomball. I also enjoy going to Calvary Church, where I help on the youth and adult worship teams. I also am a member of the UW-Marinette Student Senate, a math tutor and a Student Ambassador on campus.

What do you plan to do after UW-Marinette? I am not exactly sure, but I will definitely pursue further education, wherever that may be.

What is one piece of advice you have for incoming UW-Marinette students? Make friends and come ready to study!
