Hometown: Stephenson, Mich.

High school: Stephenson Area Public School

Current program or major: Undecided

Why did you choose UW-Marinette? I chose UW- Marinette because I wanted to be close to home while my grandfather was going through cancer treatments, and I knew it was a good starter school.

What surprised you the most about UW-Marinette when you arrived on campus? I was really shocked about how well the professors work with every student individually.

Why did you choose your program/major? I’m currently undecided and that’s why I came here hoping to get a better idea of what I want to do with my future. However, I’m becoming more interested in the science field, and I would like to do something where I can help people.

In addition to being a college student, what takes up your free time? When I’m not in class I participate in basketball and volleyball for UW-Marinette.

Who has been your favorite professor or staff member? My favorite professor is Dr. (Jennifer) Flatt. She reminds me of my art/ English teacher from high school. Dr. Flatt is always there for her students, and I can’t thank her enough.

What do you plan to do after UW-Marinette? I plan on continuing my education somewhere else but I’m not sure where yet.

What is one piece of advice you have for incoming UW-Marinette students? Make sure to use all the resources, especially the writing and math tutors. I was very nervous to go in there my first time but everyone is very nice and will make sure you understand what you’re doing.
